Fly Between the Wild Places
Swap a full day on the road for an hour in the air. We book scheduled and private bush flights from Arusha, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar to airstrips across the Serengeti, the northern parks, the remote south and west, and the islands.
01 · Why fly
Why Fly?
Tanzania is big. The drive from Arusha to the central Serengeti takes most of a day; the flight takes about an hour.
Bush flights turn travel days into extra time in the parks. You can reach the far north of the Serengeti for the river crossings, the remote south for the calving season, or the wild parks of Ruaha and Mahale that are simply too far to drive.
We book flights on the airlines we trust, time them around your climb or safari, and make sure there's always a guide or driver waiting when you land. You just choose where you want to wake up.

The Flights We Book Most
Most of our guests fly at least one of these. Flight times are approximate and vary with stops along the way.
Straight from the mountain to the beach. Daily scheduled flights, timed around your descent so you're not waiting at the airport.
Leave the plains after a morning game drive and be on the sand by the afternoon, with no backtracking to Arusha.

05 · Good to know
Flying in the Bush
Small planes, short runways and a bit of adventure. Here's what to expect.
Pack soft, pack light
Light aircraft usually allow around 15 to 20 kg per person in a soft bag, including hand luggage. Hard suitcases often won't fit in the hold. We'll confirm the exact allowance for your airline.
Expect a few touchdowns
Scheduled bush flights work like a bus route, dropping off and picking up at several airstrips on the way. It's part of the fun, and often the best game viewing of the day.
Someone's always waiting
Your guide or camp vehicle meets you on the airstrip, and we arrange drivers at every airport. You'll never be left wondering how to get to the lodge.
Charters when it suits
Short on time, travelling as a group, or heading somewhere remote like Mahale? A private charter flies on your schedule, straight to the airstrip you need.

Driving shows you the landscape and costs less. Flying saves most of a day each way and is ideal if you're short on time or heading deep into the north or south of the park. Many guests drive in and fly out to get the best of both.
Yes. Several airlines fly from the Serengeti airstrips to Zanzibar, so you don't have to go back through Arusha. It's how our 12-day safari and Zanzibar trip ends.
