Eat well. Climb well.
Your chef cooks three fresh meals a day at camp, using food bought fresh from Moshi’s local farms. There’s Kilimanjaro coffee, tea and Milo whenever you want them. Here’s a sample menu from one of our 8-day climbs.

Fresh from Moshi’s farms
Everything your chef cooks on the mountain is bought fresh in Moshi, from the farms around the foot of Kilimanjaro. Our coffee comes from the farmers on its slopes. You get fresher food on your plate, and every climb supports the local farmers who grow it.

Help yourself, all day

Grown on the mountain, brewed at camp
Our coffee comes from the farms on Kilimanjaro’s lower slopes. It’s ground fresh and brewed in a cafetière, so your first cup of the morning tastes like the mountain you’re climbing.
Kilimanjaro tea and green tea
Locally grown black tea, plus green tea for anyone who prefers it.
Milo
The malted chocolate drink every climber ends up loving at 4,000m.
Spreads at every breakfast
Your wake-up cup
Each morning starts with your coffee or tea order brought to you before you’re even out of your sleeping bag.
Hot drinks are available throughout the day, not only at mealtimes.
The Legend coffee stop
Every day on the trail, apart from your first day and summit day, your crew sets up a coffee stop with hot drinks and snacks. Sit down, warm up and refuel before the last push into camp.

Why food matters up there
You’ll need the energy
Altitude dulls your appetite just when your body needs more fuel. Warm, familiar food with plenty of carbohydrates is easier to eat when you don’t feel hungry.
Drink, drink, drink
Staying hydrated is one of the simplest things you can do on the mountain. Hot drinks all day make it easy to keep drinking in the cold.
Dietary needs and allergies
Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or allergies, we adapt the whole menu for you. Tell us when you book and your chef plans every meal around it.
Food and water questions
Is the drinking water safe?
Yes. Your water is collected along the route during the climb, then filtered through our filtration system and treated with purification tablets before you drink it.
Can you cater for allergies?
Yes. Tell us about any allergies when you book and your chef will plan every meal around them, from the first day to the last.
Do you cater for vegans and vegetarians?
Yes. We adapt the whole menu for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free climbers, so you get the same three hot meals a day as everyone else.
Is lunch always a hot meal?
Yes. Lunch is always hot, unless a change of plan on the mountain means we need to do something different that day.
Where does the food come from?
Everything is bought fresh in Moshi, from local farms around the foot of Kilimanjaro, and our coffee comes from the farmers on its slopes.
