A safari on foot, under Mount Meru.
Giraffe, buffalo and black-and-white colobus monkeys, an hour from Arusha. The one park where you can walk with an armed ranger, and the easiest first safari there is.
Private safari · day trip or one night
Small park, big variety, no long drives.
Arusha National Park packs forest, crater and lakes into a small area at the foot of Mount Meru. You will not see lion here, but you can leave the vehicle and walk among giraffe and buffalo, which few parks allow. It is the perfect first taste of safari, or a gentle day after Kilimanjaro.

“Arusha National Park is where I send people who have one spare day. Walking among giraffe the day after you summit is something you do not forget.”
Three reasons to spend a day in Arusha National Park.

Walk among the wildlife
Leave the Land Cruiser behind and walk across open grassland with an armed ranger. Giraffe, buffalo and zebra are all around you.

Forest, crater and lakes in one day
Montane forest full of colobus monkeys, the Ngurdoto Crater and the shallow Momella Lakes, often pink with flamingos.

Mountain views both ways
Mount Meru rises straight above the park, and on a clear morning Kilimanjaro shows on the horizon. Fresh off the summit, it is quite a view.

How we price
Estimate, not a final quote. This is an estimate based on high-season rates for each comfort level. Once we know your dates, arrival times and flight times, we send you an exact quote in writing, with your lodges confirmed at your chosen standard, before you pay anything. Park permits run for 24 hours, so your timings can change the final price, as can park fees, lodge rates and exchange rates. Hotel pick-up in Moshi or Arusha is included; airport transfers and extra hotel nights are added to your quote.
